Baby steps

december_0189Today I planted

Chives
Basil
Thyme
Roma Tomatoes
Celery
Lettuce
Green peppers
Cabbage
Jalapenos

And set up one counter with the light and tray. In 2 weeks we should see some growth!

Here’s the “before we attack the garden” pictures, it’s a wreck!

Hi Synthea– It’s sure going to be fun viewing your backyard work in progress. Wasn’t today’s weather nice. It actually felt a little like spring. I planted some arugula, sweet peas and some perennials. It felt great.

It was so nice today, almost 60! If I didn’t have to work I would have been out all day in it =)

I’m envious that you’re able to plant anything at all! 🙂 But it’s nice to hear the talk and watch everyone’s gardens take shape!

I agree with Grace- it’s great to see the progression of the yard! It’s encouraging to see that you can achieve so much in your own back garden. I’m hoping to become more self sufficient by growing my own vegetables, and seeing how easy this is to do has given me a real boost to get started. It looks like you get a great deal out of working on your garden too which is something I hope to achieve- I’m hoping to indulge in it as a new hobby; one that saves me money and helps the environment
