		<description>i feel that this article misrepresents heirlooms. you don&#039;t need space or know-how to grow them, just a little interest, enough to make you do a tiny bit of research. my garden is smaller than my (quite small) living room but it contains 6 types of heirloom veggies. they take up the same amount of room as conventional veggies, but with more interesting results. and without supporting monsanto. did you know that 99% of seed companies are subsidiaries of monsanto? even the &#039;independent&#039; ones. it&#039;s a marketing ploy. grrrrr.</description>
