I apologize for the lack of bloggage, I got a nifty head cold and haven’t felt like doing anything. Thankfully it’s been raining a lot this week and I haven’t needed to water! I need to get out and build up more soil over the taters (not sure where the soil will come from though…..) and do some thinning and weeding. So not going to happen until I feel better!

Thinking ahead
I’ve been thinking about preserving for a couple weeks ago but I got the Territorial Seed Fall & Winter Harvest Catalog today and that’s got me jumping 
I will likely freeze peas, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, corn if there’s any to freeze (unlikely!), zucchini, and squash.
I’ll dry any herbs I can.
Then I will can (jar) tomatoes, making tomato sauce and whole and diced tomatoes. If there’s any beets left, I’ll can some for Chris. Strawberry jam, but with strawberries I buy, our patch won’t provide enough for the year. I’ll probably get peaches and can some for this winter.
Once the garden is done, I’ll till in our compost and peat moss and plant a cover crop and till it under after a couple weeks.
Then I’ll plant crops that can overwinter.
That’s the plan for now. Like the garden this spring, it’ll probably change 50 times
