Blooming

Got some pictures around the front yard. It needs a lot of work, but that doesn’t stop the stuff that’s ready to bloom to do so. The first picture is the only one I planted myself. Everything else was planted by the landlord before he died.

See my general blog for the fire burned RV pictures!

Garden of Eatin’

I changed the name of the blog. There’s a little place on I15 going between Idaho Falls and Pocatello with this big beautiful garden and a sign: Garden of Eatin’. I just remembered that I always wanted that sign on my garden (it’s been over a year since we moved from Idaho) so I figured my garden blog name is the next best thing.

Plants still aren’t looking great. The strawberries are still growing and that is really making me think transplant shock. I have plenty of seeds to start over, and quite a few beefsteak and roma plants still inside…time will tell if I’ll have to start some or all of them over. I have come to the knowledge that complete and proper hardening off is important!!

For more information, just Google Monsanto. Even search their own website – their own pledges about creating a healthy sustainable planet go against everything they manufacture and do. You can’t make Round Up then turn around and say you’re trying to save the enviroment.

I was personally too late learning this information and bought a lot of Burpee seeds, but I’ll be much more careful from now on.

Talk about a motley crew garden

If these plants survive this, it’ll be in spite of me, not because of me LOL

Yes, I’m going to try this LOL

Went out and did some weeding and watering. Things were getting pretty dry, so I’m hoping some of the sickly plant problem was a water need. The strawberries are still doing excellent, so I wonder if it’s transplant shock more then poor soil? I tried to harden off the plants, but we haven’t had enough dry weather to do a good job with that.

None of the plants are looking well…the herbs are perhaps the greenest, but they all are turning pale and some have white spots, which could partially be from the cold, but I think it’s the soil. The compost we added just wasn’t enough. I’ll use the Earth Juice when it comes and get real amendments to actually fix it as I can.

Happy Beltane/Mayday!
